This is a book that goes a long way to helping people get through the kind of hard times we all encounter. Reading it might save some folks a trip to the psychiatrist.

Since you loaned me John's preview copy, it's been my bible – I'm not kidding. I read and re-read sentences…I look forward to coming home from work to spend time with the book. I don't know what I would've done this past month without it.

The book is so well written. When I finished, I felt I had integrated facts and an overall frame of how stress works. The case material brought the material to life, great illustrations. I am thankful that you brought your knowledge form your medical practice, seminars and your heartfelt life to a wider audience of readers. Best wishes for a big success, I hope the copies fly out of Amazon.

Being a patient of one of the authors, I wanted to read this book. Although I never made time for golf or tennis in my life, I always made time for stress. Reading through, I balked a little at working through all the exercises, I admit. They are things I would rather tackle in a focused seminar, not during leisure reading time. Even still, the book is so rich with insight I managed to get away with it and, with just a single read, feel empowered by the understanding I have gained of the stress removing capabilities I already have!
Thanks Guys. This book goes on the 'Tools for the 21st Century' shelf at our house.

This is unlike other self-help books. It helps in a very real way with the human condition. Very inspiring.

This is a great and easy to read book that offers insight into the profound effect that stress has on our life and practical help for reducing and processing stress for a healthier and happier life! Gallwey combines his own vast experience providing valuable insights into being a successful and happy person with the fascinating information and medical stories from practices of Drs. Horton and Hanzlik. I found it personally helpful and each chapter was interesting, humorous and filled with practical exercises that anyone can do to improve their quality of life.

This book helped me understand — and, therefore, effectively deal with — my work-related stress and chronic anxiety. It provided very practical tools and techniques for becoming a calmer, more centered and productive person. I whole-heartedly recommend this book to anyone who has ever let life's intrinsic stresses get in the way of moving forward and thriving.

Most of us, from time to time, have been stressed out about a perceived problem; usually, we discover it was our perception that created the stress. The actual problem itself was usually easy to resolve.
Edd Hanzelik, W Timothy Gallwey & John Horton have teamed up to provide us with solid advice in dealing with "the inner game of stress". In the process, we usually realize it's our own insecurities that create the problem; not the problem itself. With pragmatic advice in stress management, the authors have good strategies which anyone could use to get the most out of life.
Life can be overwhelming at times; by understanding the logical solutions to the challenges we face on a daily basis, the best course of action can be chosen on a more consistent basis. This is good advice for anyone to digest; it's based on a combination of clinical research, with a nice dose of good old-fashioned common sense.
Read this book if you suspect your health is suffering because of stress. While I've read other books about holistic approaches to health, I found new advice in this book that I could easily apply to my life. Since reading it, I often use the "PLE triangle" approach when trying to figure out which goals to pursue — what's the point of performance if you don't also experience learning and enjoyment? I also appreciated the extra insights from the two doctors who share case studies and contributed a valuable appendix about the physiology of stress.
- Larry Underwood, Author, Life under the Corporate Microscope
I have a multitude of books on this subject, but have never read one that gave me practical and useful tools like The Inner Game of Stress. It is a book to keep on hand to refer to and the exercises within the chapters can be done on an ongoing basis as a person's perceptions and stability unfolds. To maximize benefit from this reading one must have a sincere desire to grow and be honest with themselves.
This book should be implemented as mandatory reading for young adults in a class based on the book's tools. It would make a huge difference for the individuals and our society/world as a whole. I cannot imagine how different my path would have been had I had that opportunity at a young age. I am extremely grateful for it and recommend it to all my loved ones and friends.

This book helped me deepen my perception of stress and its effects on others and myself. Just as importantly, it helped me understand how to deal with stress consciously, intelligently and effectively.
Speaking to the heart of Tim Gallwey's Inner Game approach to problems, the book explores challenges we all face–both inner and outer. Gallwey brings a background of many years contemplation on the subject.
John Horton and Edd Hanzelik, the other two authors, are medical doctors with active practices. They bring science-based histories of their patients exploring Inner Game-type solutions to stress-related problems.
The book speaks to the objective of pursuing one's life goals with absolute passion and fullness but with minimal stress.
The medical and anecdotal evidence presented supports the authors' belief that stress responses meant for such things as fighting tigers need some conscious updating–and we are all capable of enacting the update.
The writing is clear and intelligent. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in a fascinating take on stress and how stress affects us more deeply than we generally realize.

This book combines the creative efforts of 3 people who practice what they preach -and delivers fresh, easy-to-apply methods for standing back from our stressors and simple techniques to keep them at bay.
- M. Flanagan, "Unlimited Potential"
With a humane and kind approach, these authors have created a usable and practical handbook for stress management and improved health. There is no magical thinking here, just down to earth examples and techniques. The case studies are quite pertinent and easy to relate to. I found all this very helpful. I highly recommend this delightful book for those who want health and well being without costly mumbo-jumbo.
